TLG is seeking contractors to fulfill one or more of the following roles on an upcoming project to be implemented across Nunavut.
- Instructional Designer
- Learning Content/Developer
- Graphic Designer
- Web/Multimedia Developer
Preference will be given to residents of Nunavut, including students who may be temporarily attending a post secondary institution outside of Nunavut. TLG encourages college and/or university students to apply. TLG is willing to train the right individuals. The ability to read, write and speak in Inuktitut is a definite asset.
The Project
The project is the design and development of an online / web based learning system for Internet community service providers, contracted by the Nunavut Broadband Development Corporation. The bulk of the project involves the development of learning content on topics such as:
- Writing effective emails
- Workplace safety
- Troubleshooting technical issues related to email, Internet connectivity
- Self service customer management tool
- Basic business development such as managing cash flow
Timeframe
The contractor must be available to start immediately. Work may not be continuous and/or may be continuous for blocks of time at different stages throughout the project depending on each contractor’s role. For example, a graphic design consultant will be engaged at the start of the project to determine the visual identity for the courseware but not again until after the learning content is actually developed and instructional images are required. We recommend that contractors be available to dedicate a minimum of 20 hours per week during the appropriate stage of development.

This project will end March 31st, 2009, so it is expected that contractors will be available to complete their deliverables until the end of the project. .
Contractors must have a computer and Internet access because the work will be done remotely and team members rely on email communication.
